‘Twas the Month Before Christmas

‘Twas the Month Before Christmas

‘Twas the month before Christmas, the year is just flyin’
We went to Yosemite, Bryce Canyon and Zion
A stop in Las Vegas, we gave them our token
We left quite relaxed and Lisa’s foot broken

But she’s doing just fine, likes to read, walk and write
Thanks to her love, Mikey’s Eagle is in sight
Yes he’s finding his way, scouts and friends, he’s so lucky
He runs 8 miles a day and eats more than Kentucky

Dominique is in seventh and plays jazz piano
When her brother’s around she’ll go mano y mano
But the teen years are coming with adventures awaiting
My plan is in place, twenty years ’til she’s dating

For me life is fun, I’m the happy cohort
They feed me the stories, I’m here to report
By day I speak cloud and tech gobbledygook
By night I opine with posts on Facebook

In closing I’ll comment on our recent election
I fear that our country has lost its direction
But in honor of those who died for our rights
Let’s never give up, let’s fight all the fights

Let’s teach all the young ones, someone built it for sure
No guilt, no shame, no apology tour
America is their future, not a past to remember
Merry Christmas to all, have a happy December
