1. Tell us a little about your program.
Galileo Camps is an imagination-sparking program for kids in pre-K through 8th grade with the motto “fear goes on holiday.” We find that many parents see a shift in their kids, from fearless toddlers to less self-assured students who are afraid to take a chance because they don’t want to make a mistake. Inspired by the Institute of Design at Stanford, Galileo camps spark campers’ creativity and literally change their way of learning.
2. What do kids love most about your program?
We designed Galileo camps to evolve with our campers. The older they get, the more freedom we give them. They delve deeper into art and science concepts, use more advanced materials and tackle more complex team-building challenges.
At Camp Galileo (pre-K-5th grade), campers take on art, science and outdoor activities tailored to their level, and they learn lasting innovation skills like collaboration and reflection. Our 4 new themes for 2016 are Space Explorers, Galileo Olympics, National Parks Adventure, and Galileo Makers: Toys.
At Galileo Summer Quest (entering 5th-8th grades), kids are empowered to dive deep into a subject area that inspires them. Campers make short films, engineer Go-Karts, whip up inventive dishes, create a fashion line, design custom video games and much more.
3. What is unique about your program?
At Galileo, we believe that summer camp should be crazy fun and profoundly enriching at the same time. That’s why innovation is at the core of everything we do. Curriculum with Serious Substance sparks kids’ imagination from Pre-K all the way through 8th grade. Experienced, Dynamic Staff provide campers with a steady stream of compassion and inspiration. The Galileo Innovation Approach teaches kids to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes and create without fear – resulting in a lasting impact on their confidence and creativity.
