Mommy & Me

Mommy and Me, Kids Music N MotionHaving a tough day and don’t know what to do? Is your baby crying because of teething or your toddler not eating? What should you do? Join a mommy and me class in your area. These classes are not only an opportunity for your baby/toddler to learn skills such as cognitive learning, physical, socialization as well as bringing in language and other skills. They are also an opportunity for socialization for adults and learning parenting skills from a professional and getting advice from other parents who may be having the same issues. Sometimes it nice to know that you are not alone in raising children as they say “it does take a village” or in this case a lot of really good advice and peers.

How should you choose a mommy and me class? You will want an instructor who has a degree in Early Childhood Education. Remember qualified instructors have studied at what age children do various skills such as walking, talking and eating. They usually have taught parents and children and are prepared to make it enjoyable for both during the class. They should have knowledge about parenting skills, health, nutrition, physical growth learning skills and general brain development. I always encourage my attendees to suggest topics that they want to learn about in each session since they are there to enhance their parenting skills as well as enjoy the class as opposed to a set curriculum that repeats itself every 8 weeks.
