1. Regularly, update the family calendar with appointments, special occasions, sports and school activities.
2. Handle paperwork, email and postal mail ASAP. Discard junk, etc. Pay bills 1-2 times a month or auto pay to save time. Designate location for mail to be placed and dealt with daily.
3.Spend a few minutes each evening planning the next day’s activities; appointments, errands, sports, classes, etc.
4. Create a computer printed grocery list. Post it for all to see. Have family members circle items as needed. Shop weekly to save time, energy and money! Leave the kids at home when possible when shopping, to shop faster and save money!
5. Turn overwhelming household projects into smaller tasks. Start with purging of a drawer or two. Get into the habit of donating unwanted items to charities. Weekly ,for one hour, each person uses a grocery bag to place unwanted items for donation or discard. When a new item comes in…one goes out!
6. Help everyone to become responsible family members. Teach all to sort laundry, set & clear the table, help cook when possible, tend to the animals, vacuum a room, and take out the trash and recycle.
7. Placing counter-top items into a basket or container makes for simple clean up of an area. Use plastic shoeboxes baskets and recyclable containers for sorting items in drawers and cabinets.
8. Plan a weekly dinner menu before grocery shopping to prepare for healthier eating, eliminating last minute take out and saving money. Cook several meals one day to prep and freeze for future meals.
9. Make time to relax and enjoy your new and more peaceful life with a movie or game.
10. Have fun!
