SoCal residents looking for a last blast of summer can find it at NAVITAT CANOPY ADVENTURES, a high-adventure zip line canopy tour in the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California.
Located in the charming resort town of Wrightwood, NAVITAT is an ideal daytrip destination from Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, Orange County, Palm Springs and San Diego, and a perfect back-to-school adventure for families.
“Come join us before school is back in session and end your summer on a high note, soaring through the trees,” said Abby Burt, Branding and Marketing Leader at NAVITAT.
Nearly 1.5 miles long, the NAVITAT course is entirely tree-based and features 10 zip lines, four sky bridges and three rappels. At heights more than 300 feet off the ground and with speeds up to 55 mph, NAVITAT zips are some of the highest and fastest in the nation.
Elevations range between 6,000 and 7,400 feet in Wrightwood and at NAVITAT, so temperatures generally are cool and the air clear. The tour site is home to majestic pines and oaks, abundant wildlife, and breathtaking long-range views of the Mojave Desert, the Sierras, the San Bernardino Range, and San Gorgonio, the highest peak in Southern California.
Open since July 2011, NAVITAT CANOPY ADVENTURES is located just 90 minutes northeast of Los Angeles and near the popular Mountain High winter resort. Awarded “Best of L.A.” honors by L.A. Weekly and CBS Los Angeles, the tour has been featured on “Conan” and as the backdrop of Geico’s Maxwell the Ziplining Pig commercial.
NAVITAT tours run daily through the end of November. Tour price Sunday-Friday is $109 per adult and $99 per youth under 18, and on Saturday $119 per adult and $109 per youth. Weight and health restrictions apply. Tours last approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. Visit www.navitat.com/wrightwood to book your tour.
