Cathy Alessandra

Cathy Alessandra is a wife, a mother of three teenagers, and the Creator, President and Publisher of What’s Up For Kids and Today’s Innovative Woman.

Cathy’s first magazine, What’s Up For Kids, was founded in 1995 based on the need of finding information about local events and activities – all in one place. What started as a 4 page newsletter and 1000 copies has grown to a 32 page full color glossy magazine with a print circulation of 20,000.

During the years of growing her first company, What’s Up For Kids, LLC, she experienced the struggle of juggling 3 babies and a business from a home office. Cathy wanted to help mompreneurs like her launch and grow a business while enjoying all the benefits of motherhood – without suffering “SuperMom” or “SuperWoman” Fatigue. Cathy thrives on being an entrepreneur and began the National Association of Entrepreneur Moms (NAOEM) at the beginning of 2009 to empower entrepreneur moms with information, tools and resources so they can pursue their passion and balance their life.

In 2011, Cathy launched her new magazine and incorporated NAOEM into Today’s Innovative Woman- All About Business, All About Success, All About YOU! Today’s Innovative Woman is the hottest new magazine for smart, savvy women entrepreneurs. From sales and marketing, to branding and social media – from fashion and beauty to home and family, it’s ALL covered for the successful woman on the go!

Cathy resides with her husband and 3 children in the Los Angeles area.   She is actively involved in her community, sitting on the Board of Trustees at Providence/Little Company of Mary Hospital and as Founder/President of Teens on a Mission, a junior philanthropy group dedicated to raising awareness in our children for the need and importance of philanthropy and its tremendous impact on society by volunteering.

Cathy has been featured on cbs.com, career-intelligence.com, The Les Brown Show on KFWB – Los Angeles.  She was recognized as a 2011 Top Mompreneur by Babble.com and was a finalist in the 2011 Ali Brown Platinum Excellence Award.  Cathy can be reached at cathy@cathyalessandra.com.  Click the icons below to view or hear the story!
