Tips for Making Healthy Lifestyle Changes

Yes.  Life STYLE change.  What you are doing now got you to where you are.  If you were happy with that, you would not need to read this.  This is a learning process.  If “fast and easy” worked, we would have stopped looking for new ways. Lifestyle means the foods you eat, the kind of stresses in your life, the kind of exercise you do, your habits….about anything relating to food and exercise.  Or lack of it…  Do you want to take care of your body?  Are your body and health important to you?  If you answered yes to your body being important, what are you doing on a daily basis to take care of it?  If you are doing nothing, then why not?  These are the MOST important questions you need to answer before getting started.  If exercising isn’t YOUR idea, you might not stick to it very long.  And if you are looking to get motivated, ask yourself who gets affected when you get sick or aren’t here anymore.  Are they important enough to you for you to take care of yourself? When is it Time to Walk Away?

Step number 1 in my new book, Fit 2 Love, is about cleaning the slate. I outline a few different areas of life to do that: physical body, physical environment, emotional baggage, and current relationships.

I am going to focus on the last one, current relationships, and use a personal example from my own life.  Current relationships can be any person, group or environment you are currently participating with.

In my case, it’s a group.

About 6 months ago, a client of mine invited me to check out a group that offered support around the areas of allowing, accepting and trusting in a higher power.  It was exactly what I needed at the time.

The Answers to Why You Overeat

Why You OvereatWhile I titled this post “The Answers to Why You Overeat,” I could have titled this “why you drink”, “why you take drugs”, or “why you neglect yourself” because it all applies.

There is a root, whether you want to look at it or not, that causes these feelings we have inside of us that we want to run away from. And after watching a 20 minute video this week about it from a true “researcher”, I am more passionate than ever about helping you find a solution to get OUT OF IT.

Schedule time to workoutIf you had to ask me what the best fitness advice was it would be to find compliance. For me and many of my clients and friends, that means SCHEDULING it.

Are there better exercises for each of us to be doing? Yes.

Are there more effective ways to change your body fat than some of the methods you are currently using? Yes.

But the bottom line for a lot of us, is DOING IT and DOING IT CONSISTENTLY.
