These books are a great way to get kids ready for their first away camp experience, or to carry summer adventure into the school year!!

Two great summer reads for kids ages 7 -11 from Skyhorse Publishing! Boys Camp: Zack’s Story and Boys Camp: Nate’s Story. Fun, learning, and friendship bloom at Camp Wolf Trail in these stories of growing up in the summer sun. In Boy’s Camp: Zach’s Story, by Cameron Dokey and illustrated by Craig Orback, being at Camp Wolf Trail is a dream come true for city boy Zack. Finally, he’ll have the summer of fun he’s always dreamed of.

But nature has surprises in store for Zack: animals, weather, and even the earth itself don’t behave the way he expects, and especially not the way his favorite book, The Outdoor Adventure Guide, has described. When catastrophe strikes, will Zack have the courage and problem solving smarts to lead his friends to safety?

In Boys Camp: Nate’s Story, by Kitson Jazynka and illustrated by Craig Orback, Nate has returned to Camp Wolf Trail, with a secret: he’s a Bird Nerd. At least that’s what the kids at school call him when they tease him about his love of birds-from observing them, to learning interesting facts, to drawing them in his secret notebook. Nate confides in Vik, but can he trust his new friend, the cabin jokester?

Tension grows before an overnight horse-riding trip when Nate discovers he has another secret. He is terrified of horses, even Herschel, the bony old horse assigned to Nate from the group of rescue horses the campers ride. When danger strikes, it’s up to Nate to face his fears!
