I was recently given the opportunity to visit the CPK in Westwood, CA so I invited my 18 year old son, his 2 friends and my husband to join me to experience the new look, feel and menu. We were greeted by the friendly manager Kelly, a woman who clearly loves her job and understands the importance of a good customer experience. This location has been given a new updated, modern look with more open space, some high top tables and a hip, casual feel.
CPK is known of course for their many pizzas. However, their new menu choices are a change of pace and very tasty. We started with the new California Fields Salad which includes greens, strawberries, watermelon and feta cheese – my husband’s favorite! I loved the Avocado Club egg rolls – also a favorite with the teenage boys who declared they were “bomb” (teenage speak for FABULOUS!) Next was the Tequila Chicken Fettuccine – another tasty dish with just the slightest kick. I didn’t expect to find steak on the menu, but the new menu has it! A Ribeye steak with a blue cheese and garlic butter on top – my personal favorite which also received “the bomb” rating from the boys. So yummy and flavorful.
We also, as would be expected, tried some of their latest pizzas and flatbread – the roasted garlic chicken pizza and the lobster flatbread. I ordered the pizza with their gluten free crust and it was fab. And believe me, sometimes gluten free means taste free – this was not the case. It was great!
California Pizza Kitchen has always been an Alessandra family favorite. With it’s family friendly environment, large menu selection and affordable prices, it’s a great choice for a night out. We’ll be back soon!
